I’ve been working on the main house Earthship roof with these people for 4 days now… this is about all you’ll see of us half of the time. It’s quite a balancing act to hang on to all your tools, lean over the roof edge… and get the Roof Flashing attached.

The odd time you’ll here an ‘Ooooooops’… as something skids down the front face of the Earhship… so far it’s just been nails or levels… not one of us.

It takes many hands and careful placement to get the heavy glass panels into the perpendicular interior wall of the smaller Studio Earthship Greenhouse Hallway.

While on the outside of the main house Earthship, the glass panels are already in, including the Velox operable Venting window.

Systems checks are done, like the water lines, and crew and eager interns wait with anticipation that all is good to go. There’s been a lot of effort just to get to this stage to turn on the taps.

Cement pours have been going on for days now, for the Sunrise pattern in the smaller Studio Earthship.

The work has been long and tedious, but the finished result will be stunning.

…and just to show I do invest my energy into a project… my roof mate snapped this photo of me while we were riveting gutter straps to the roof… and let me tell you… it looks easier than it really is…oy!
