Sunday May 29, on the Gulf Island Earthship Build
Earthship volunteer Interns camping on the owner’s raw land, have it a little rougher, however we still dub it ‘Camp Hugs’.
Camp Hugs got off to a rough start, but with time, adjustments were made for the cold, wet, damp, camping additions…
… especially the increase in tarps.
Some people got creatively functional with their campsite, using just tarps and what was available on the land.
Others brought in conveniences, like a stand up shower, and created their own catch water system.
Some people preferred to be off the ground completely in hammocks, and once they got tarps and sleeping bags they were warm and dry.
A makeshift Rocket Stove works great for cooking.
When people aren’t drying their boots…
…there’s always the entertainment.
Next week I’ll cover the campsite I’m staying at, it’s a smaller group, perhaps less adventurous with a preferred level of comfort. Regardless of our choices, my hats off to the hard core campers!
