Here’s an overview of the main 3 Bedroom Earthship house on Day 20. All of the Solar Panels are now up, including two Solar Water Heaters, and the mini Solar Panel that heats them.

Here is a side view of the Earth Berm on the main house Earthship. The overall form is really starting to take shape, however there will be more additions with tire walls separating the two Earthships, and supporting the Studio Earthship berm.

The first layer of large gravel is dumped into the second Greywater Planter trench in the main Earthship house.

After the Greywater Planter Trench is filled with a layer of gravel, a layer of dirt is put on top.

Here is a Day 20 overview of the Studio Earthship, which is really starting to take shape with it’s particular design elements, like the Can Walls, and doorway arches.

It finally got sunny and warm enough for some of the local critters to come out of their comfy nooks and crannies… just a harmless snake, but a welcome distraction none the less to see something live in all this mud after 2 weeks.

Took some time during the day today to visit the Saturday Island Food Market with fellow interns, where we have the opportunity to buy fresh produce for the upcoming week. Baskets from around the world hold the fresh market produce.

Many fresh greens to choose from at the market…

To get you these posts and photos up on the web, I need to get to the local …and only internet…when it’s working… at the Pub by the Ferry Docks. It’s a 2 km walk from where I’m tenting. Here’s the view I sometimes catch when I lift my head from the laptop… and no, I don’t fill myself with pints of beer, I have an endless coffee mug so I can make it back the 2km uphill walk.
