‘My Survivor, Island Earthship’
Photo Journal of a Gulf Island Earthship Build with Michael Reynolds
I, Monica, have signed up for a 5 week Earthship Build on a remote Island off the West Coast of British Columbia, with Michael Reynolds and his crew. Two Earthships are being built at the same time, one 3 Bedroom Global Earthship and one Global Studio Earthship. Note: this is NOT our Earthship build, but a build I’m attending.
I plan to Blog the Daily Progress of the build through Photos and Info. I hope to bring you an inside perspective of what it’s like to be on a build with Michael Reynolds and his crew, 40 willing volunteers from all over the world, the Daily Construction, and the lighter side of camping under extreme conditions.
As acting Intern Liaison/Den Mother on this build, I have already been faced with the challenges surrounding this build. The undeveloped nature of the Island presents a very primitive camping situation.
There is NO existing building on this site, NO electricity on the Island, NO campfires, NO markets, NO vehicles allowed to the island, foot traffic only, we’re still sorting out the issues surrounding good drinking water, and getting to the Island makes ‘Planes Trains and Automobiles’ look like a walk in the park.
Follow me on ‘My Survivor’ adventure, as it’s sure to inform and entertain. Check out the chronological list below of ‘ Journal Posts of My Survivor Island Earthship’ to see all the posts for this 5 Week Build.
