Staying ‘On the Wagon’ may take Compromise.

I found myself spontaneously ‘going into town’ to look at a 639 acre property for sale with a friend, and we country folk double up and multitask always where burning gas is concerned, so we did a grocery shop while we were there.

Now normally that involves me sitting down for an hour to decide on a Menu Plan for a couple weeks, and then pounding out the ingredient list for the store…however this time I winged it a bit.  I decided that after a month of ‘Going Hard’ I would allow myself a few items that aren’t completely ‘perfect’ for this cleanse but they are darn close.

I know myself well enough to know that I can last in this race a whole lot longer if I consent to a few items like baked Brown Rice Tortilla Chips.  The 3rd ingredient on the bag is Corn Flour.  Oh well.  I am also allowing myself 2 ounces of Unsweetened (not from concentrate) Apple Juice in my glass of Fizzy when I have it. It is small concessions like these that make it viable to stay on the wagon without going hog wild.  Compromise and flexibility are difficult words for a Taurus, but if I want longevity I will have to integrate them into my vocabulary.

On a high note I think on day 30 I will revisit that ‘Symptoms list’ in The Candida Directory and Cookbook to see if I can move onto incorporating a few new things into my diet.  I have no intention of going hog wild…but 3 or 4 ingredients can go a long way where variety is concerned. The moral of the story here is don’t give up. Never surrender.  It isn’t all or nothing.  If the difference between carrying on and being successful is to compromise then I say do what YOU need to do, and stay the course.
